Liquor store No. 3 — No cause for alarm

The liquor store situation in Blaine is serious, but nowhere near fatal, according to latest reports from city councilmen and  city manager Clarence Motz.

Metropolitan Council staff reviews airport master plan

A Metropolitan Council staff review of the master plan for the Anoka County-Blaine Airport recommends the council approve the field’s development as a “minor” airport.

If the recommendations are accepted, it will be a reversal of the council’s six-year-old plan for the regional aviation system. That 1977 plan calls for the Anoka airport to be “intermediate”, which means it would accommodate the larger corporate jets.

Youth Service Program continues to prosper at Blaine High School 

From police explorer programs to political campaigns to repairing houses for low-income families, there were many opportunities for Blaine High School students to consider.

The school’s Youth Service Program held its annual service fair Oct. 20, which is designed to give students a variety of volunteer opportunities. There were 40 agencies that participated this year, more than in years past.
