Raising money – more than $1,000 – and awareness for the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund, the high school’s DECA students sold pink Cardinal Nation t-shirts, and also collected donations from football fans filing into the stadium.

The Oct. 11 Cardinal football game was the second Tackle Cancer game in which Coon Rapids has taken part; the first was a Sept. 21, 2012 game versus Champlin Park.

“We have great students and parents here at Coon Rapids who are willing to help when needed,” said Adam Thronson, social studies teacher and wrestling coach who helped to facilitate the Tackle Cancer Pink Out at Coon Rapids.
