Dessert and coffee series is announced

The Coon Rapids Arts Commission has announced its 2014 winter dessert and coffee performing arts series.

The Holy Rocka Rollaz comprising front man Mark Flora, standup bassist Paul Jongewerd and drummer Matt Alexander will kickoff Coon Rapids Arts Commission’s 2014 four-concert winter dessert and coffee performing arts series at the Coon Rapids Civic Center Thursday, Jan. 9.

The four-concert series begins in January and takes place the second Thursday of each month through April.

The concerts are staged at the Coon Rapids Civic Center, 11155 Robinson Dr. NW, starting at 7 p.m., and include music, desserts and a beverage.

The schedule is:

• Thursday, Jan. 9, The Holy Rocka Rollaz, 1950s music.

• Thursday, Feb. 13, The City of Lakes Chorus, barbershop chorus.

• Thursday, March 13, The Percolators, variety and country music.

• Thursday, April 10, The Bill and Tom Show, variety.

Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under and adults age 65 and older.

People receive a $4 discount if they purchase tickets for all four concerts.
