Prairie Home Delights took place Oct. 25, 6-9 p.m. The event included gourmet foods, cheeses and desserts, live music and silent and live auctions.

“We at the college work diligently to provide community businesses with qualified employees in a host of fields, including nursing,” said Michael Wall, interim college foundation director.

“We have an excellent relationship with the Mercy and Unity Hospitals Foundation as well as both hospitals. That relationship is a great example of the communitywide effort necessary to keep a college education affordable for more students, which in turn presents businesses with the workforce they need to succeed.”

Mercy & Unity Hospitals Foundation is proud to return as a 2013 Prairie Home Delights sponsor and provide scholarships for deserving students at Anoka-Ramsey Community College, according to Foundation President Joseph Strauss.

“We are fortunate to have two colleges, Anoka Technical College and Anoka-Ramsey, which boasts the largest nursing program in the state, in close proximity to our hospitals,” Strauss said.

The college foundation has awarded more than $1.7 million in scholarships and $500,000 in equipment since its inception in 1974. Last year alone, more than 140 students received scholarships at the Coon Rapids campus.
