Woman pleads guilty to felony DWI charge

A Coon Rapids woman with three prior DWI convictions in the past 10 years has pleaded guilty to another – a felony. Genna Diane Anderson, 34, entered a guilty plea in Anoka County District Court and will be sentenced Nov. 5.

The early morning hours of Jan. 5, an officer came across a fresh one-car accident at the intersection of Coon Rapids Boulevard and Pheasant Ridge Drive where vehicle was lying on its side on the median.

The driver, Anderson, who was trapped inside, and had been attempting to turn on to the boulevard, but was traveling too fast and struck the center median, which caused the vehicle to roll.

Firefighters were able to extricate Anderson, who showed signs of alcohol intoxication and she admitted she had had three drinks.

Anderson failed field sobriety tests, then blew a .149 on the preliminary breath test.
