Runners get into the Gray Ghost spirit for annual 5k

More than 2,100 runners and walkers, many in creative costumes, ran in Anoka Halloween’s annual Gray Ghost 5k. The run always kicks off the Grand Day Parade, starting at Franklin Elementary School.

The top male finisher was 25-year-old Dan Greeno of Minneapolis, who ran the 5k in 15:00. The first woman to cross the finish line was Jessica Kociscak, 24, of Ramsey, who finished with a time of 19:19.

The top three racers in each age category were given awards.
