Coon Rapids craft, gift fair marks 31 years

Rose Anderson has been a crafter at Coon Rapids American Legion’s annual craft and gift fair and bake sale all 31 years it has been in existence.

The annual event at the Coon Rapids American Legion post Oct. 25 and 26 was no exception.

Anderson was selling her hand-knitted items, ranging from scrubbers and dish towels to hats.

“I knit them all myself,” said Anderson, who will also have a table at the Coon Rapids VFW’s annual craft fair, which is scheduled Nov. 8 and 9.

Anderson does brisk business at the Legion. “I keep my prices reasonable and affordable,” she said.

And she keeps coming back to the Legion event every year because “I like to see and meet people,” Anderson said.

There were 38 crafters at the craft and gift fair Oct. 25 and 26 selling crocheted, knitted, embroidered and quilted items as well as jewelry, holiday decor, candles, rugs, gift items and other merchandise.

Members of the auxiliary sold baked good that members had made themselves.

There were also door prizes and concessions available over the two days of the event.

Proceeds go to the auxiliary’s veterans programs.
