A 28-year-old man has been accused of breaking into an old high school classmate’s Blaine home and touching her under her shirt while she was sleeping.
Jared Joseph Anderson of North Branch was arraigned Oct. 16 in Anoka County District Court on three felony charges, two for first-degree burglary and one for fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Anderson’s next court appearance is Nov. 18.
According to the criminal complaint, Anderson had recently started showing up at an old high school classmate’s music events, was texting her and always wanted to come over to her home despite her repeatedly telling him she did not want to see him.
The morning of Oct. 14, Anderson allegedly texted her to say he would stop by her Blaine home when he got off work at 4 p.m. She did not reply.
The woman told police that she sent her daughter to the neighbor’s house to play while she took a nap and alleged she woke up to find Anderson in her home with his right hand inside her shirt touching her breast. He allegedly withdrew his hand and apologized and she called her neighbor, who called the police 5:40 p.m. Oct. 14.
In a post-Miranda statement, Anderson admitted to entering the home on Austin Street NE without permission, but denied the sexual assault, according to the complaint.
