Coon Rapids presents ‘The Crucible’

Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible,” a classic American drama set during the Salem witch trials, will be performed by the Coon Rapids High School Theater Department beginning Nov. 8.

ArtsCRHSCrucibleAlthough the play is set in 1692, it still appeals to today’s audiences with its themes of intolerance, forgiveness and reputation.

“‘The Crucible’ has been a tremendous challenge for students who have spent a great deal of time researching the play as well as the history behind it,” said director Karla Haij.

With costumes by Jan Redmann and set by David M. Donovan, the play takes the stage at the high school 7 p.m. Nov. 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16; with a 2 p.m. Nov. 16 matinee ASL (American sign language) interpreted performance.
