There are four divisions – petite for girls ages five to seven; petite for boys ages five to nine; junior for girls ages eight to 12; and teen for girls aged 13 to 16. The deadline for entries is Dec. 15.
According to Diane Buszta, pageant director, the pageant is open to boys and girls that live, attend school or worship in Coon Rapids.
The entry fee of $75 includes a pageant T-shirt, pizza party, snacks at rehearsals and participation trophy.
The competition is based on 50 percent interview with the judges and 50 percent modeling with personal speech, Buszta said.
For the interviews, girls and boys will be wearing a sportswear outfit, shirt and skirt for the girls and shirt and dress pants for the boys.
The modeling and speech component of the pageant will have petite and junior girls wearing a party dress, t-length or short, and formal for teens, while boys will wear dress pants and tie with their shirt (suits and tuxedos are optional), Buszta said.
