Santa Claus is coming to Northtown

With Halloween behind us, Northtown Mall in Blaine is getting into the holiday season spirit.

Santa Claus will be arriving Saturday, Nov. 9 in the Burlington Court and will be available most mall hours through Dec. 24 for photos and to listen closely as young children tell him what they want for Christmas.

Santa is sensitive to the needs of children with autism. He is welcoming them to his temporary Christmas village in the Burlington Court Sunday, Dec. 8 from 8-10 a.m.

Pets are not excluded from the holiday fun. Their owners can bring them to the mall Dec. 2, 4, 6 and 10 from 5-9 p.m. for pet photos with Santa in the Burlington Court. All animals must be on a leash or in a carrier.

Stop by the Best Buy court between Nov. 27 and Dec. 1, except on Thanksgiving Day, to shop at a holiday craft and gift fair.

If shoppers cannot find what they are looking for at the craft and gift fair, they can check out the rest of Northtown Mall because every dollar spent at its retail stores from Nov. 16 to Dec. 16 can help a nonprofit organization.

All shoppers have to do is show their receipts to Guest Services and choose a participating nonprofit organization that will receive one point for each dollar spent.

The organization with the most points receives $4,000. Groups coming in second through fifth place also receive cash prizes.

Stick around the mall a little longer to enjoy holiday music from local groups. The holiday concert series is Dec. 4-18. The concert schedule can be found on the mall’s website (www.northtown-mall.com). Most concerts last about 30 minutes and are in the Best Buy Court.
