Super seniors stage their annual bazaar

The season’s first snow has fallen and winter holidays are on the horizon …  As is tradition, the Coon Rapids Super Senior Club staged its annual holiday bazaar at the Coon Rapids Senior Center Nov. 7.

Folks stopping by the senior center enjoyed refreshments and warm holiday cheer as they shopped for arts and crafts and bake sale items, scanned collections of jewelry and books and flea market finds.

Hundreds attended the day-long event and proceeds benefit local charities, said senior services program specialist Kris Niebler.

Niebler counted local elementary schools and food shelves, Stepping Stone emergency housing and the Coon Rapids High School scholarship fund among the groups that would benefit from the bazaar.

“Of course, the proceeds also help to pay for senior center expenditures,” Niebler said.

All senior center activities are funded by proceeds from the gift shop and the annual holiday bazaar, she said.
