“Greetings Coon Rapids community, when I signed up to compete at Miss Coon Rapids last November, I knew I was in for an incredible experience.

“However, what I didn’t anticipate was just how much I would fall in love with the people of Coon Rapids once I was crowned. I know that my life has been forever improved as a result of having the honor and privilege of representing this amazing city.

“The year I’ve had as Miss Coon Rapids has come to an end all too soon, but I rejoice in the fact that I’ve made memories I can cherish for a lifetime.

“Whether I was speaking at the Lions club about my platform, ‘Mentor Today, Success Tomorrow: Positive Youth Development’ or hosting a princess party, riding in parades or volunteering at Tee it Up for the Troops, I can honestly say I’ve heartily enjoyed every minute!

“I would first like to thank the community of Coon Rapids for supporting me. No matter what I did in the community, I felt so much warmth, love and support from all of you.

“I would like to specifically thank the numerous businesses and individuals who have financially supported the Miss Coon Rapids Scholarship Program.

“Your contributions to this program sustain an organization that is so much more valuable than just a ‘beauty pageant.’

“These scholarship dollars help to make a substantial impact in the lives of the young women who compete, helping them develop into confident servant leaders within their communities. So, I applaud and thank you for your support.

“Theresa Leggate, the newest Miss Coon Rapids executive director and my dear friend, has been my go-to gal since day one.

“I knew that I would be blessed with incredible relationships from the Miss Coon Rapids team, but I feel so beyond blessed to have had the leadership and love of Theresa throughout my year.

“Not only was she my fearless director, but she also became a friend, confidant, second mom, protector and source of encouragement when I was feeling down.

“There are always going to be people in our lives that come and go, but I know that Theresa is one of those individuals who will be in my life for a very, very long time. Thank you for everything you did for me and continue to do for this program.

“The Miss Coon Rapids committee is responsible for keeping the pageant running each year. I would especially like to thank Marcy, Sue, John, Teda, Diane, Carla, Megan and Phyllis for all they did for me throughout this year.

“When I was crowned last year, I was given an incredible extended family in all of you. Your many volunteer hours are what make this program stand out from the rest! Thank you!

“My year would not have been the same without two of my favorite gals – Kathryn Kueppers, Miss Coon Rapids Outstanding Teen, and Natalie Berg, Miss Coon Rapids Princess.

“Kathryn has an unwavering light and joy about her that is evident to those who have the pleasure of meeting her. I feel so blessed to have had her by my side at every appearance this year; I think we really made quite the dynamic duo!

“I knew I could always count on Kathryn to come prepared to any appearance with a warm smile, witty humor and a spare lipstick (just in case I forgot mine)! Thank you for always keeping things fun!

“Princess Natalie, thank you for always being a delight to be around! I know you’ll be doing big things in the months and years to come and I can’t wait to watch it all unfold.

“This year, I was blessed to also have the Coon Rapids Junior Royalty by my side at every parade. I feel so honored to have gotten to foster such special relationships with each of you. You’re all incredible young women!

“Thank you for spending your year with me and being so supportive of your ‘big sister.’

“Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank my unbelievably supportive family, friends, roommates, co-workers and the rest of my support system for being so remarkably encouraging this year.

I know for a fact I had one of the loudest cheering sections at Miss Minnesota and it was all thanks to you! I am blessed to have each of you in my life. Thank you for all you did and continue to do for me.

“It has truly been a blessing to represent this fine community. Thank you for an incredible year that I will never forget!”
