Entries sought for ‘Winter in Minnesota’ art show

Calling all artists!

Organizers of the Winter in Minnesota art show are seeking artwork to adorn the halls of Blaine City Hall, Nov. 29 through Dec. 27.

The Blaine Arts Council invites all artists working with any medium to enter one or two pieces for display and award consideration.

Best of Show, first, second and third place winners will be awarded in the competition, juried by Gail Speckmann (www.gailspeckmann.com).

Artwork can be dropped off at city hall (10801 Town Square Dr. NE, Blaine) 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 25 and Nov. 27; and 5-7 p.m. Nov. 26.

Artwork must be wired and ready to hang – please no alligator clips. Also, each piece of artwork must be accompanied by an entry/release form, available at www.blaineparks.com (search for “Blaine Arts Council”) or by stopping by the Blaine Parks and Recreation Department at city hall during normal business hours.

Artwork on display during the Winter in Minnesota art show may be offered for sale; however any exchange of funds must be done directly between the artist and the purchaser.

All artwork – including any sold works – will remain on display at city hall for the duration of the exhibit, and may not be claimed until after 4 p.m. Dec. 27 but must be removed by 2 p.m. Dec. 28.

(The city of Blaine reserves the unconditional right not to accept or display any work of art. Also, the city of Blaine is not responsible for theft, loss, or damage to any artwork.)
