The community will gather Saturday, Dec. 7 for what has become a popular Christmas celebration in Anoka.
The holiday tree lighting event will run from 5-7 p.m. at Anoka City Hall Plaza.
The evening includes free horse-drawn trolley rides, holiday music and bonfires to keep you toasty warm.
Santa will once again be seeing little girls and boys in the Santa Shack and city officials will flip the switch to officially light the tree that will sit in the center of the roundabout in front of city hall.
This event has grown dramatically over the past several years. Last year’s crowd was estimated at 4,000 people, which has meant organizers will double up on the number of horse drawn trolleys available for the event.
Santa also stayed until 7:30 p.m. last year to make sure he got a visit in with all the youngsters in the long line-up.
