A Blaine man, who is a registered sexual predator, has been accused in Anoka County District Court of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl.
Benjamin Mark Frauss, 46, was arraigned in court Nov. 14 on a felony first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge.
Bail was set at $400,000 without conditions or $250,000 with conditions.
He was ordered to have no contact with the victim or with any minor, nor any use of a computer. His next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 18.
Frauss entered a guilty plea in Anoka County District Court in January 2004 to a felony possession of child pornography charge and was placed on probation for five years.
According to the complaint, law enforcement was informed in July that Frauss had child pornography on his laptop, which he had the girl watch with him.
Then he allegedly wanted her to do with him what was shown on the laptop – oral sex and sexual intercourse.
On July 8, detectives from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division contacted Frauss to inform him what they had been told, then executed a search warrant at his home.
Seizing the computer, they found he had allegedly wiped the computer hard drive clean July 8.
But a forensic examination of the laptop allegedly revealed recent Internet traffic to a website that allows users to manufacture their own pornographic videos that focus on adult males having sexual intercourse with young female relatives.
