SLP Council adopts two transportation resolutions

Resolutions concerning public transportation between the Village of Spring Lake Park and the City of St. Paul were passed by the Spring Lake Park Village Council Monday evening in an attempt to alleviate the consumption of fuel during the energy crisis.

Blaine woman gets royal treat

Anna Hogdal, a travel consultant in Blaine, is a big fan of Her Royal Highness the Princess Diana of Wales. So when Anna went to London last month the first thing she did was to call Buckingham Palace to inquire about the royal schedule. She was told Princess Diana would be visiting the London chest hospital in East London. Anna and her mother took a one-hour train ride and arrived at the gate to the hospital and … were the first ones there to see her.

Flying high in the fight against drugs

The Minnesota National Guard whipped up a swirl of snow and the enthusiasm of students when it landed a helicopter at Westwood Elementary school in Blaine last Thursday. In preparation for the landing, students spelled out DARE in the snow. The National Guard brought its Drug Demand Reduction program message to students about making positive life choices and staying drug- and alcohol-free.
