Governor honors Andover student

GovSimeonTorontoGov. Mark Dayton and other elected officials met at center ice to honor Andover High School senior Simeon Toronto, who had been elected governor of Boys State and president of Boys Nation last summer.

In a brief ceremony just before the puck dropped for the Dec. 5 Armstrong versus Andover hockey game, Dayton presented Toronto and the high school with a plaque commemorating Toronto’s state “governorship” while State Rep. Peggy Scott presented a resolution she authored honoring the young man.
