She will also be offering her other books, “Promises to Keep: A History of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Cedar, Mn.” and “Stitches in Time.”

“Stitches in Time” is a history of Anoka County using traditional quilting patterns, like the log cabin, to introduce topics like homesteading, transportation, schools, etc. Each short article is accompanied by instructions for completing the corresponding quilt block.

This was written by King and co-authored by Vickie Wendel, Anoka County Historical Society program manager, when Anoka celebrated its Sesquicentennial celebration.

Proceeds from the book, “Legacy of Service” will go to the Coon Rapids VFW to help defray the cost of a new roof.

The book will be offered for sale for $20.
