Former bank in Coon Rapids razed for redevelopment

The former Sterling Bank property on the northeast corner of Main Street and Round Lake Boulevard, Coon Rapids, has been razed.

In October, the Coon Rapids Planning Commission approved a site plan submitted by DJR Architecture, Inc., Minneapolis, for two multi-tenant buildings totaling 11,200 square feet and a 4,090 square-foot restaurant.

Work has started on the Panera restaurant building with the contractor working into the late evening and on Saturdays to meet Panera’s deadline.

Under the plan, Panera Bread will have indoor seating for 90 people, plus 36 outdoor seats on the south side, and a drive-through window

There is currently a Panera Bread located on the south side of Main Street on 124th Avenue in a multi-tenant building in the Riverdale Commons Shopping Center development near the Target Greatland store.
