Felony charge filed after woman requires surgery

A Coon Rapids man has been accused in Anoka County District Court of assaulting a woman, whose injuries have required surgery.

Thomas William Miller, 60, is due back in court Dec. 19 on felony third-degree assault and misdemeanor domestic assault charges.

At his arraignment Nov. 19, Miller was released on his own recognizance, but the court issued a no contact order.

The incident occurred Jan. 25 and Miller yelled at the woman, threw some water on her head, then struck her head and hand with a glass, according to the complaint.

The woman went to the hospital where she was allegedly diagnosed with cut tendons on multiple fingers and a concussion.

She underwent surgery to repair the injuries to her tendons and more surgery is allegedly likely to be required.
