One charged in Blaine bank robbery, other suspects at large

A 23-year-old man has been charged by the Anoka County Attorney’s Office for allegedly being one of three men to rob a Blaine bank Friday evening, Dec. 13.

Tearise Breon Baugh of Brooklyn Park was arraigned Dec. 16 in Anoka County District Court on a felony charge of first-degree aggravated robbery.

The other suspects have not been arrested and the case is still under investigation, said Blaine Police Chief Chris Olson.

According to Olson, Blaine officers responded to the TCF Bank on County Road 10 across the street from Northtown Mall at 6:39 p.m. on a robbery report.

Bank staff said three black men wearing dark jackets with some coverings on their faces approached a teller, who told police that one of the men had a gun.

She gave them a money bag and witnesses saw the men flee the bank and get into a waiting vehicle, according to the complaint.

The vehicle lost control nearby and the men got out and fled on foot.

Authorities learned that one suspect had gone into an Arby’s bathroom carrying a bag. Police detained him and he allegedly matched the general description of the robbers given from the scene of the crime.

The TCF Bank money bag and clothing that matched the description given at the scene were recovered in the bathroom, according to the complaint.
