Anoka man pleads guilty to felonies

An Anoka man pleaded guilty Nov. 18 in Anoka County District Court to two felony charges.

Eric Jon Krueger, 43, entered guilty pleas to simple robbery and theft. He will be sentenced Feb. 4, 2014. Two other felony charges of receiving stolen property and fleeing police in a motor vehicle will be dismissed at sentencing.

According to the criminal complaint, a Blaine police officer 1:02 p.m. July 19 saw a man later identified as Krueger leaving a known drug house in a truck which had been reported stolen.

Authorities attempted to stop Krueger, but he ran a red light at Lexington Avenue and Pheasant Ridge Drive and cut through lawns and driveways to elude several squad cars.

The pursuit was called off because of concern for public safety, according to the complaint, but witnesses later reported seeing the vehicle drive south on Hastings Street at a high rate of speed and it was spotted in the Walgreen’s parking lot in the area of Aberdeen Street and 124th Avenue.

Krueger tried to force another driver out of their van, but police arrived and arrested him.
