Rotarians give dictionaries to third graders

Each year all third-grade students in the Anoka-Hennepin School District receive a dictionary from their local Rotary club, including the Coon Rapids Rotary Club.

Rotarians distribute over 3,000 student dictionaries to the students in all elementary schools in the district, including the eight in Coon Rapids.

The gift will be very helpful as the students begin to learn word and dictionary skills, according to Coon Rapids Rotarian John Piper.

Members of the Coon Rapids Rotary Club Dec. 16 distributed the dictionaries to the two third-grade classes at Epiphany Catholic School.

This literacy project is made possible by the Rotary Clubs from Anoka, Blaine/Ham Lake, Coon Rapids and Ramsey; the Anoka-Hennepin Educational Foundation; and Connexus Energy.
