Children dance ‘Merry Christmas’ greeting at Farmstead

With many merry dance steps and rosy faces filled with celebration, children extended an energetic “Merry Christmas” greeting to several smiling seniors.

The Elgato Con Botos Spanish immersion day care center kids giggled and danced Dec. 23 for residents of the Farmstead senior living complex in Andover.

“This is fun. The little ones really have so much fun doing this and it’s fun for us, too,” said Farmstead resident Delisle Minear, smiling as the children greeted each resident after the final dance steps of the morning.

Doris Griep, Elgato Con Botos director, said the children really do have as much fun visiting the senior living center as the seniors have seeing them.

“What really touches my heart and the reason for us to do this every year is the fact of … how the two edges of living cycle serve a purpose in each other’s lives: Seniors are being entertained while children feel proud of doing it,” Griep said.
