Chamber elects new directors

Stacey Jensen, Running Aces Harness Park and Jeff Warner Jr., Warners’ Stellian Appliance, have been elected by the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce membership to the 2014 board of directors.

Jensen is the marketing manager for Running Aces Harness Park. She has co-chaired the chamber golf tournament for the past three years and is active in the Young Professionals. She regularly attends events and said that being involved in the chamber “has become one of the most rewarding parts of my professional career.”

Warner manages the Warners’ Stellian Coon Rapids store, which joined MetroNorth before even opening its doors. It has been active in many events and sponsorships.

“I really enjoy the chamber and everything that it stands for,” Warner said. “We both want a vibrant, diverse business community that serves the region well.”

Also recently joining the board is Damian Kussian of North Metro TV, who was appointed in October. Kussian is a former co-chairperson of the Young Professionals and currently produces the chamber’s “Taking Care of Business” TV show on channel 15.

The 2014 board will be led by Bob Schlichte of Grand Casino Mille Lacs & Hinckley.

“Being involved in the north metro community is important to me as well as to Grand Casino,” Schlichte said. “I look forward to an exciting 2014 and I am honored to be the board chairperson for the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce”.

Schlichte follows Patty Sagert of Rasmussen College Blaine Campus, who remains part of the 2014 leadership team as past chairperson. Other 2014 executive officers are Vice Chairperson Mike Mulrooney, Central Development Minnesota Company, and Treasurer Ted Erhart, Trott Brook Financial.

Outgoing board members, Duane Arens, previously with Connexus Energy, and Dean Richards, of Smith Schafer and Associates, both finished six years of service and held several leadership roles on the board.
