Hometown favorite country music recording artist Rockie Lynne releases his first album in more than two years when “Radio Road” hits iTunes and RockieLynne.com Feb. 11.
Although he makes his home in Nashville, Tenn., now, Lynne lived in Coon Rapids during his early teen years and considers himself a native son.
“I love this city and there’s nothing on this earth I wouldn’t do for this town,” Lynne said last summer before taking the Sand Creek Park stage and performing a Thursday Nites Live gig there Aug. 8.
Lynne first made a name for himself when he was signed to a recording contract and went on to release his critically acclaimed, self-titled debut album on Universal Records.
His debut single, “Lipstick,” spent 10 weeks in the number one slot on Billboard magazine’s country singles sales chart and Billboard staff declared him “poised for stardom … helped along by his fierce work ethic, telegenic face and most of all, his triple-threat talent as a singer, songwriter and guitar whiz.”
A veteran of the United States Army, Lynne often performs for patriotic and military events. In fact, his dedication to honoring and supporting members of the U.S. military prompted his activity as co-founder of Tribute to the Troops. Not only that, Lynne performed at the Tee it up for the Troops event in 2012 at Bunker Hills Golf Course and is often hired as live performer for patriotic and military events.
Lynne owns a Nashville-based music publishing company and a full-service recording studio.
“His extensive knowledge of music production combined with his skills as a guitar player, composer and hit songwriter explain why he has become a favorite contributor to many national media outlets,” said Susan Levy, publicity spokeswoman for Lynne.
A special CD release event for Lynne’s “Radio Road” takes place Feb. 8 at Bogarts Place (14917 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley). Tickets are $40 for dinner and show; $15 for show only.
