Ernest Borgnine at Northtown

Northtown Center will be host to movie great, Ernest Borgnine from 2-5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15. Robert Muir, owner and developer of Northtown Center, and his personal friend, Ernest Borgnine, have recently worked together creating a television spot for Northtown where Ernest Borgnine, while in the middle of the ocean, indicates he is swimming to Northtown to shop because it’s “well worth the trip.”

Shoemaker joins Minnesota Meadows race track team

Legendary jockey Willie Shoemaker has become a technical consultant with the North Star Racing Partnership which is developing the Minnesota Meadows Race Course in Blaine. Shoemaker was in the Twin Cities area Tuesday for a round of press conferences and to attend the Anoka County Chamber of Commerce video horse racing Derby Night II at the BelRae ballroom.

Needed: more space, District 11 searching for solutions

School District 11 is counting on its citizens to furnish it with some difficult answers to the district’s impending and future crunch on classroom space. The district will be conducting both a telephone and mail survey to discover resident attitudes about split shifts, year-round school and a possible bond referendum to follow the one which failed in November.
