Wasche, Miller headline area state gymnastics efforts

St. Francis sophomore Natalie Wasche made one of the loudest cheering sections inside the Sports Pavilion at the University of Minnesota proud during the Class AA state gymnastics meet Feb. 22.

Wasche placed 29th in the all-around competition with a score of 36.00.

Her best apparatus score came on the floor exercise with a 9.300, tying with Lakeville North’s Emma Johnson for sixth among the all-around competitors.

Wasche scored a 9.1500 on the uneven parallel bars to place 14th and 8.80 on the vault to place 32nd.

She scored an 8.750 on the balance beam, 11th best among the all-arounders.

Andover junior Sarah Miller scored a 21st place on the vault with a two-pass score of 9.3750. She went from a 9.150 on her first attempt to a 9.375 on her second attempt.

Miller placed 26th on the beam with an 8.750 and 28th on the floor with a score of 8.775.
