Former golf course to become residential

Melanie and Tom Lundgren bought KateHaven Golf Course in 1995 from Melanie’s parents who opened the course in 1981 after having farmed the property for many years. Submitted photo

From the time golfers first teed off in 1981 to the last putt in the fall of 2013, the KateHaven Golf Course stayed in the family.

With business struggling over the past decade due to increased competition from government-owned golf courses and the golf industry struggling in general, Melanie Lundgren and her husband Tom decided now was the time to sell the golf course that Melanie’s parents Harley and Carlotta Flor had opened 33 years ago. The property had been a farm since 1913.
