The city of Ramsey is holding a public meeting Thursday, March 20 to begin gathering citizen input for its next comprehensive plan update.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Alexander Ramsey Room of the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW.
The comprehensive plan is the development framework for a community and is required by the Metropolitan Council to be updated every 10 years. The previous 2030 comprehensive plan was submitted by the city in 2008, so this new document would be the 2040 comprehensive plan.
A comprehensive plan covers topics such as transportation, residential and commercial land use, parks and trails, water resources, city sewer availability and more.
The meeting will highlight the history of Ramsey, what is happening today, and what could happen in the future. The city’s future land use map will be reviewed at the meeting, as will the vision and values statement.
Residents and business owners interested in being a part of the comprehensive plan discussion are invited to attend the meeting. No registration in advance is required.
