Tickets (available at the door or in advance at www.e-clubhouse.org/sites/coon_rapids) are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors 62 and older and children ages 5-12, and free for children under 5.

The Lions will also be collecting donations of used eyeglasses and hearing aides during this event. Those items will be recycled for use by people in need all over the world.

Proceeds from this event benefit community projects supported by the Lions, as well as youth groups participating in the event.

Nonperishable food items can also be dropped off at the breakfast and will be donated to the ACBC Food Shelf.

“The Coon Rapids Lions Club is excited to have this annual spring community breakfast as part of our Club’s 60th anniversary,” said Lion Joe Marvin, event co-chair. “We Lions love to see our families, friends and neighbors come to the VFW and share a meal together.”

Marvin said the Lions appreciate the support shown at this breakfast and for the club’s other activities.

“If it wasn’t for the generosity of the citizens of Coon Rapids, we Lions would not be able to work on our projects that assist so many people throughout the community and the world,” he said. “We also wish to thank the Coon Rapids VFW for once again allowing us the use of their facilities.”

Regarding donations of eyeglasses, hearing aides and food items, Lion Al Meyer, event co-chair said: “This is another way that a small contribution locally can be part of a worldwide project performed by Lions. … The (Lions) club recognizes the needs of its community and hope this will help our neighbors who try to deal with difficulties of feeding themselves and their families every day.”

The Coon Rapids Lions meet 7 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. For more information or to get involved with the Coon Rapids Lions Club, contact Lion Dan Janish at 612-558-2851, visit  www.e-clubhouse.org/sites/coon_rapids or check out the Coon Rapids Lions Club Facebook page.
