The public is invited to view the work of graduating Anoka-Ramsey Community College Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) degree students at the eight annual AFA Exhibition opening reception 6-8 p.m. April 3 at the Coon Rapids Campus Great River Gallery (11200 Mississippi Blvd., Coon Rapids).
The event will feature 10 student artists and their work. Refreshments will be served.
Exhibiting Anoka-Ramsey AFA candidates include Amber Bagley, Aaron Becker, Theresa Berry, Houa Chang, Lewis Derry, Melissa Karger, Laura Rades, Ashley Tollefson, Samatha Walstad, and Vanita Watry.
Becker, a ceramics artist who will be transferring to the University of Minnesota this fall to pursue a bachelor in fine arts degree, is excited to share his work with the public.
“We are excited to have people check out this compilation of our work,” he said. “Our work has grown and changed so much through the course of the AFA program.”
As part of the opening reception, each artist will give a brief talk about their work and answer questions in a public forum.
The public and people considering the two-year associate of fine arts degree at Anoka-Ramsey are encouraged to attend the showing to see the exciting new work produced in the Anoka-Ramsey fine arts department.
