Artists del Norte member artists’ work includes photography, watercolor, mixed media, colored pencil, pastel, encaustic wax, acrylic painting, and more.

“Our theme this year portrays the breathtaking beauty of the landscape of the western United States,” said the group’s exhibition coordinator Sharyn Erickson. “Our themes are mostly light-hearted and fun. Our objective in determining a theme for the annual member show is to encourage our members to explore new directions and new media.”

Artists Out West will be juried by Molly Cronk, a teacher and artist who studied painting, printmaking, and stained glass in college and currently works in mosaics and other creative endeavors.

The exhibition opens April 12 and runs through May 10. A closing reception and award ceremony is scheduled for 1-3 p.m., May 10.

Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts is located at 6666 East River Road, Fridley. For more information about the Artists Out West exhibition, call 763-574-1850 or email [email protected]
