Spring Lake Park High School’s Opportunities in Emergency Care program invites the community to its 19th annual spaghetti dinner and silent auction fundraiser Friday, April 25.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 4-10 and no cost for children 3 and under.
OEC student waitstaff will serve up spaghetti and meatballs from 5-8 p.m. Student musicians will serenade guests as they dine.
Guests can bid on silent auction items throughout the evening, too. The big item this year is a flat-screen television, according to Bill Neiss, OEC program coordinator. Students are putting together a variety of themed baskets that will be up for grabs in the auction as well.
The event coincides with a performance of the high school’s spring musical, “Cabaret.” OEC always tries to align the spaghetti dinner with a school function, such as the musical or a sporting event, to draw people for dinner beforehand, Neiss said.
Money raised will fund two $1,000 college scholarships and perhaps some camp scholarships for OEC students.
“These kids bust their tails off every year,” Neiss said. “We try to give a little back to them.”
