Skeleton on the north bank of river
Two Hennepin county Boy Scouts named Chase came across the Mississippi in a boat Saturday and in looking around found under a fallen tree human bones. There was a skull, bones of the legs, etc., but no ribs or hand bones. They at once notified the sheriff and county attorney. The coroner was notified and further search of the spot revealed a piece of watch chain, $1.21 in small change, the latest date on any coin being 1926. The coroner estimated the man was about 45 years of age, about six feet tall. A piece of a mackinaw was found, also part of a shoe, and a piece of blue serge. One tooth had a gold filling. No disappearance of anyone answering the description of the man has been reported.
