The Anoka-Hennepin teachers’ contract got its final stamp of approval Monday, 11 months after District 11 and Anoka Hennepin Education Minnesota began negotiations.
Without discussion, the Anoka-Hennepin School Board unanimously approved the teacher’s 2013-2015 contract April 28.
Two weeks ago, the teachers ratified the contract with 84.6 percent of union membership’s support. A majority is required.
The contract provides all teachers with $1,000 one-time money in the first year of the contract.
On the salary schedule, more experienced teachers will receive a 1.5 percent raise in the first year of the contract and an additional 2 percent in the second year. Newer teachers will see a 1.5 percent bump in the second year of the contract.
New teachers will start on the second step.
The contract extends retroactively to July 1, 2013, and is valid through June 30, 2015.
After thanking negotiators for their hard work, Paul Cady, general counsel and lead negotiator for the district, shook hands with AHEM negotiators present at the meeting.
