The Anoka County Veteran’s Council will host Memorial Day services Saturday, May 24.
Services will also include posts and auxiliaries of the Anoka County Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legions, the Military order of the Cooties, and the Military Order of the Purple Heart, 40/8, Vietnam vets, Disabled American Vets, Dessert Storm Veterans, Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan Veterans.
The first ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at the Field of Honor, Morningside Memorial Gardens, 11800 University Ave NW, Coon Rapids. The second ceremony will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Bunker Hills War Memorial Park, Foley Boulevard and Main Street, Coon Rapids.
All are invited to attend a family picnic will be held at the Bunker Hills War Memorial Park following the ceremony. The picnic will be provided by the nine Veteran of Foreign Wars posts and auxiliaries; the seven American Legion posts and auxiliaries; the Military order of the Cooties and the 40/8; and the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the Vietnam Veterans; the Disabled American Veterans; Desert Storm Veterans; and the Veterans retuning from Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan.
