Come to the Anoka County-Blaine Airport May 31 and June 1 to learn more about the history and current trends of airplanes.
Discover Aviation Days runs from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. This is a free event, although a parking donation is encouraged to help cover the event costs.
On display will be general and corporate aircraft; experimental and home-built planes; World War II fighters, trainers and bombers; and many other types of vintage and modern military aircraft.
Fly-overs will take place throughout the day. You could even pay for the opportunity to ride in an aircraft or helicopter.
Numerous aviation education booths and kid’s activities will be prominent for those who are interested in a career in aviation.
You will also have the opportunity to visit with veterans from World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War in a large educational tent.
A pancake breakfast will be served both days from 7 to 11:30 a.m. Lunch is served from noon to 3:30 p.m.
The hangar dance with a 15-piece 1940s swing band kicks off at 8 p.m. May 31. Admission is $12 for adults, $8 for students and kids above the age of 12.
