Four out of five St. Francis City Council seats will be on the ballot this November.
Citizens wanting to throw their hat in the ring are able to fill out an affidavit of candidacy until city hall closes Tuesday, June 3. The filing period opened Tuesday, May 20.
Jerry Tveit’s two-year mayor term is expiring at the end of this year, as is the four-year council terms of Amy Lazere and Chris McClish.
Also included on the ballot will be a two-year council term currently occupied by Steve Kane, who was appointed to the council in January after Mike Haggard resigned.
The filing fee is $5. Paperwork must be filed out at St. Francis City Hall, 23340 Cree. St. NW.
If necessary, a primary election will be held Tuesday, Aug. 12. This is the first year that there has been a primary for the St. Francis City Council election.
