As part of the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s plan to resurface a 4-mile stretch of Highway 65 in Fridley and Spring Lake Park this summer and fall, intersections at Mississippi Street and Osborne Road will close next week.
The Mississippi intersection will close Tuesday, June 17, for the rest of the month, and the Osborne intersection will close the following day until July 2.
Vehicles traveling north on Highway 65 will still be able to turn right on Mississippi Street and Osborne Road.
MnDOT asks motorists to follow signed detours.
Southbound lanes are closed from 81st Avenue to Medtronic Parkway for the first half of the project. When the southbound lanes reopen, work will begin on nortbound Highway 65, likely in early August.
Through traffic can follow MnDOT’s suggested detour, taking Highway 10 to Interstate 35W to Interstate 694.
Detours to access local businesses will be posted on roadways; most local traffic will be detoured to Old Central Avenue.
