Another boost for Anoka

From both the standpoint of merchants and citizens we take great pleasure in announcing that plans have been laid for the expending of several thousands of dollars in the enlarging, remodeling and refurnishing of our store, Smith Bros of Anoka. It cannot but please you to know that we have enuf confidence in Anoka’s future to spend much good hard cash to make this an up-to-date store to trade in. We feel that Anoka is growing better each year and that we should keep pace with her progress if possible.

He was the fastest in fast company

Brown is one of Anoka’s two new champions. He realized long before last weekend’s annual State High School League sponsored track and field championships meet at White Bear Lake that he would be among fast company. But graduated senior Jeff Brown was confident going in and a state champion coming out. Brown rocketed to the state Class AA 100 meters dash championship — the first state 100 championship in Anoka’s history.
