Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts and Savage Umbrella are excited to announce “JUNE,” the final workshop presentation of their 2013-2014 season showing at Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts, 6666 E. River Road in Fridley, at 7:30 p.m. July 20.
Tickets are a suggested donation of $5 to $10 at the door. Advance reservations are suggested, as seating is limited. To reserve tickets, call 763-574-1850.
Set in pre-Stonewall America, “JUNE” explores the roles people play and the secrets they hide. Newlywed June is introduced to the darker (perhaps sexier) side of life through a mysterious acquaintance. Will June be able to keep it together, or will things start to get out of control? If she’s not careful, somebody might get hurt.
This workshop is created and directed by Savage Umbrella company member Hannah K. Holman.
“JUNE” is also showing at 7:30 p.m. July 18 and 19 at the Southern Theater, 1420 S. Washington Ave., Minneapolis.
In its workshop presentations, Savage Umbrella invites audiences to get a sneak peek into how its shows are made. Audiences get to see the actors read the brand new script and ask questions of the team.
The audience responses and ideas are then used to help shape the final script for production. Savage Umbrella benefits from the chance to try out new material and get input. Audiences benefit by being an active part of the process, all in a casual atmosphere.
