Members of the Blaine Art Council extend a call for entries in its annual juried art show, this one exploring the “World of Plants.”
The show is open to all artists and all mediums, and artwork will be on display at Blaine City Hall July 28 through Aug. 29.
Participants may enter one, two or three pieces for display and award consideration. Prizes for Best of Show, first, second and third place will be awarded.
Artwork on display may be offered for sale; however, any exchange of funds must be done directly between the artist and the purchaser.
Dates to drop off artwork for the “World of Plants” juried art show are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 21-25 and 5-7 p.m. July 22. Art pieces must be wired and ready to hang (no alligator clips).
A signed entry or release form must accompany the artwork, or it will not be displayed. Those forms are available by searching for “Blaine Arts Council” at BlaineParks.com. Forms are also available at the Blaine Parks and Recreation Department inside Blaine City Hall during normal business hours.
Artwork – including any sold works – will remain on display for the duration of the exhibit.
The city of Blaine reserves the unconditional right not to accept or display any work of art and is not responsible for theft, loss or damage to any artwork.
Artwork and sold art may be claimed after 4 p.m. Aug. 29. All artwork must be removed by 2 p.m. Aug. 30.
For more information on the show, contact the Blaine Parks and Recreation Department at 763-785-6164.
