Members sought for anti-bullying task force

Students and community members concerned about eliminating bullying are invited to serve on the Anoka-Hennepin School District’s anti-bullying and anti-harassment task force for the 2014-2015 school year. The task force is charged with advising the district on how best to foster a positive educational climate for all students.

The task force, which will also include educators, will meet one Thursday of each month, except December, from October through May, 6-8 p.m., at the Educational Service Center in Anoka. Members will be expected to attend at least six meetings.

The task force will summarize its work in a written report to the school board next spring.

Those interested in serving on the task force should complete an application form, available on the district website at or by calling Laurie Rasmusson at 763-506-1081. Mail applications to Jennifer Cherry, Title IX and equity coordinator, Educational Service Center, 2727 N Ferry Street, Anoka, MN 55303-1650, by Sept. 8.

Applications will be reviewed and members selected with the goal of ensuring a committee that is broadly representative of the district. The school board chairperson will make appointments in late September, and those selected will be notified in early October.

For more information, contact Jennifer Cherry at 763-506-1120.
