Home arsons probed

An unfinished house in the Cooper Construction project on Sixth Street in Spring Lake Park was the latest target of the unexplained firebug who has set the torch to a half dozen uncompleted North Suburban homes. Authorities today are continuing their probe of apparent arson of partially completed homes in recent months. The Cooper project was the first unfinished house hit by the firebug in Spring Lake Park.

Just like old times

Former Spring Lake Park High School principal Harry Sheff and former school superintendent and current board member Ed Knalson reminisced about the good old days at the first 11 class reunion put on by the newly-formed Spring Lake Park High School Alumni Association last Friday. The classes of 1957-1967 met for cocktails at the Bel Rae Ballroom followed by dinner and dancing.

Bow hunting boundaries in Blaine

The city of Blaine will retain the same boundaries as last year for the 1994 bow and arrow deer hunting season. The state of Minnesota has established the dates for the hunting season which will take place from Sept. 17 through Dec. 31.
