Five more inductees set to join Anoka Hall of Fame

Four distinguished athletes and one coach will be among the second class to be inducted into the Anoka High School Hall of Fame on Sept. 11.

This year’s class includes wrestling coach Garth Lappin, wrestling twins David and James Hazewinkle, cross country and track standout Tracy Dahl and medal of honor recipient Richard K. Sorenson.

The ceremony is open the public for anyone who would like to celebrate these inductees accomplishments. A formal ceremony will take place inside the Anoka High School Auditorium at 6 p.m. with a reception to follow in the school cafeteria with opportunities for the community to mingle with the inductees and families. Inductees are invited to attend the football game against Coon Rapids at Goodrich Field and will be introduced during the halftime ceremony.

With the Class of 2014, the hall of fame will include 27 honorees.
