The East Bethel City Council voted at its Nov. 5 regular meeting not to change East Bethel’s dog ordinance that requires at least 2.5 acres and a kennel license if an owner has three or more dogs.

A local resident who lives in a subdivision on 0.23 of an acre had attended a meeting last month to ask for the change. She explained that her family had been heartbroken after planning to keep a puppy from their two dogs then having to find a new home for one.
