The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled 36-year-old David Roberts’ death an accidental drowning.
The office issued a release Aug. 16 with its findings, nearly one month after Roberts’ unexpected death in Lake Minnetonka.
On July 20, deputies and medics responded to the lake, near Lafayette Bay, around 6:40 p.m., according to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.
Roberts had been removed from the water by bystanders before emergency personnel arrived, but he could not be resuscitated and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Roberts, of Oak Grove, served on the St. Francis School Board since 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Jen, and four children, Lea, Kamryn, Eli and Keira.
