Since 2013, I have primarily covered the Anoka-Hennepin and Spring Lake Park school districts as well as the city of Spring Lake Park for ABC Newspapers.

The community is invited to participate in a self-guided tour of 14 north metro art studios April 1 and 2.

The 19th annual North Artists Studio Crawl, presented in conjunction with Artists del Norte, will feature 32 artists of all kinds – painters, potters, weavers and more.

“It’s just a great day to interact with the artists,” said Cherene Bebeau, public relations coordinator for the studio crawl.

Studios dot Anoka County, and stops this year are in Andover, Anoka, Blaine, Coon Rapids, East Bethel, Ham Lake, Ramsey and surrounding areas.

Fourteen studio spaces will display work from 32 north suburban artists in the upcoming North Artists Studio Crawl.

A new stop is the Rumriver Art Center, 2665 Fourth Ave. S., Anoka, a nonprofit serving the north metro with an abundance of visual arts programming.

“Every time you go, it’s something new and different,” Bebeau said of the crawl, which draws about 800 people annually.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both April 1 and 2. Some studios will have light refreshments available, and art will be for sale.

A full list of participating artists and a map to studios participating in this year’s crawl are available online at www.nascrawl.org and at the studios themselves.
